How long does it take for wishes to come true? That is an interesting concept for me. As a daughter of immigrant parents and sister to an immigrant brother, time is not something that is always on our side.
This sculpture represents my interpretation of the passing of time while waiting for something you’ve been wishing for. The copper woman has been still for so long, that she is oxidizing. The layers upon layers of wax serve as a representation of time progressing. A wish for every penny that lays in the water by her feet. How many have come true, I have yet to know.
